Programs 

Most of our programs will take place in the library Construction Room. Per library policy, masks must be worn inside the building, including during programs. Unless indicated, teen evens are for students in grades 6-12.

Friday Fun

Friday Fun is our monthly teens only program where teens hang out at the library. We put out board games and the Nintendo Switch. Teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to hang out for some or all of the time!

Winter Fun 

You've been to Friday Fun, but have you tried Wednesday Fun? We know it's Winter Break, and figured we'd give you bonus fun day!

Life Skills 

Practical life lessons that they don’t teach in school. This program is for teens in grades 6-12. Registration is required. Please stop in the library, call 414-302-8500, or register on our website westallislibrary.org/events.

Crafternoons

Join us to learn something new and create something fun to take home. This program is for teens in grades 6-12. Registration is required. Please stop in the library, call (414)302-8500, or register on our website westallislibrary.org/events.

Pageturners

Teen readers this event is for you! Join us for an afternoon of book recommendations, hot beverages (cocoa and tea) and reading! At our first event we’ll take a little bit of time to decorate mugs to use at other meetings! Bring a book to read, or pick up one at the library before you come to the program.

Anime Club

Join us to watch anime favorites and discuss the manga you are reading. Most episodes are for a suggested audience of ages 14+. Registration is not necessary.

Winter Teen Discord Writers Club:

January 4 - February 23

This January and February head to Discord for writing prompts. Each week, starting January 4th we’ll post a prompt or an activity for you to work on. Share your work, read what others have written, or just get advice! We’ll post new prompts on Tuesdays, and you’ll be able to share your responses. Be sure to join the Library’s Teens Only Discord before January!  

 

Bookish Programs

Winter Reading

December 27, 2021-February 28, 2022

This program is for teens in grades 6-12. From December 27, 2021 to February 28th, 2022 keep track of the books you read. Every 2 books you read earns an entry into the grand prize drawing, up to 8 books read. Earn prizes and entries in to our grand prize drawing! Stop in the library at 4 and 8 books read to pick up prizes for reading! Write book reviews to earn extra entries. Every two book reviews (up to 8) earns you one more chance to win a deluxe book box! Reading prizes will be available January 3 through February 28th. Come in for a paper log or register and log online at Beanstack.

100 Books Before Graduation

Challenge yourself and read 100 books before you finish high school! Sign up at westallislibrary.beanstack.com or pick up a log at the library and list the titles of the books you've read. Be sure to stop in the library for prizes after reading 25, 50, 75 and 100 (of course) books for prizes. 

Teen Lit Loot

Lit Loot is the library’s subscription box for teens in grades 6–12. Each FREE Lit Loot box is full of treats, surprises, and a hand picked library book, just for you. Pick up your Lit Loot box, enjoy, and return the book and the box—you keep the LOOT! You must have a library card in good standing to check out your kit! Registration starts the 1st of each month.
